The Developing Literacy (Fundamentals) tool kit has been specifically designed to teach children foundational skills essential for learning to read. This tool kit targets the following skills:
- Developing Phonological Awareness skills, including knowledge of syllable identification and rhyming
- Developing Phonemic Awareness through the recognition of letter-sound correspondence
- Introducing Word Manipulation skills of segmenting and blending CVC words
- Developing Orthographic Mapping, Word Awareness and Reading Fluency through recognition of high-frequency words
