FAQ

Ordering

How do the kits work?

Each tool kit contains various resources to target essential skills necessary for communication. Instructions are provided with each activity to maximise the development of the target skill. As you use the resources and tip sheets with your child, they will practise specific skills using fun and engaging play-based activities.

What skills can my child learn with a kit from Talk and Teach?

Our speech therapy tool kits aim to target several skills essential for communication. Each kit develops your child’s abilities in the areas of receptive and expressive language, literacy skills, as well as auditory processing and social communication. Check back regularly as more target areas will be added to our programs.

How do I claim my kit purchase with NDIS?

Each therapy program is purchased through therapy hours under Capacity Building. Self Managed participants can purchase by adding their kits of choice directly to the cart, purchasing and then claiming back through NDIS. Alternatively, if you are Plan Managed, you can request an invoice for your Plan Manager to pay before the tool kits are shipped. If you would like to select the invoice option, we require the Participant’s name and Participant Number when you complete your cart.

Please Note* There can be a delay for Plan Managed funds to clear before we can ship your tool kits. Tool kits are required to be paid promptly by Plan Managers. If the invoices are unpaid for 2 weeks, the order will be void.

Selecting Your Tool Kits

Which tool kits should I choose first?

We recommend beginning with the Developing Language and Developing Comprehension tool kits. These kits cover the areas of receptive and expressive language skills and will have a big impact on your child's overall language development.

My child is non-speaking or minimally verbal, which kits will be suitable?

Whilst all of our tool kits can be used with Alternative & Augmentative Communication (AAC), our Developing Comprehension tool kits are most suited to working on non-verbal skills. The Developing Language (Preschool) tool kit introduces language, at the single word level before moving on to sentences. You can adapt our tool kits to use them at an easier or more difficult level if required.
