Your child will build skills in:

  • Vocabulary Development – Learn and label nouns to expand word knowledge.

  • Understanding Qualitative Concepts – Explore size, shape, colour, and comparing/contrasting objects.

  • Location Concepts – Practise spatial awareness and positional words (e.g., under, next to, behind).

  • Following Directions – Improve listening and comprehension by following multi-step instructions.

  • Object Classification – Group, categorise, and identify object functions to support cognitive development.

This tool kit includes:

  • Board Game – Engaging play that reinforces language concepts in a fun, structured way.

  • Felt Game – A hands-on approach to practising categorisation, description, and spatial concepts.

  • Card Game – Interactive language-based tasks that encourage vocabulary expansion.

  • Animals Activity – Build knowledge of animal names, descriptions, and classifications.

The Developing Concepts Tool Kit also teaches families how to use everyday objects to create language-rich interactions, making learning accessible beyond structured play. Whether at home, in therapy sessions, or as part of daily routines, this tool kit provides essential early learning support in an engaging and flexible format.

Perfect for preschool and lower primary-aged children, this resource supports both at-home learning and professional therapy goals, ensuring strong language and thinking skills for lifelong success.
